Apprentice Application Information

The Hartford Electricians JATC now accepts applications year-round. Applications will be available at our office, Monday through Friday, from 8 am-12 pm, or by appointment.

Applicants must meet four minimum qualifications in order to be considered for selection.

-Applicants must have earned a high school diploma, GED, or a two-year associate degree or higher

-Applicants must have taken and passed Algebra, at a minimum, or the NJATC Tech Math Course (www.electricaltrainingalliance.org )

-Be drug free

Applications may only be filled out in person, and applicants are asked to bring a photo ID with current address in order to complete the application.

All official sealed transcripts must be post marked no later than 30 days. It is the applicants responsibility to ensure that our office has received the transcripts by that date.

Application Process:

All applicants are required to obtain a copy of their high school, GED, or college transcript. Please contact your institution and have them provide you with in a transcript in a sealed envelope and with an original stamp. All applicants must prove that they have passed Algebra, at a minimum.

After the application period has closed, the JATC will notify qualified candidates as to the date, time, and place where they will be given the NJATC Aptitude Test administered by the JATC. Based upon the results of the aptitude test, applicants will be notified if they qualify for an interview by the JATC Committee.

After applicants have been interviewed, the class will be selected. All applicants who are conditionally accepted into the apprenticeship program are required to pass a drug test.

The school year begins in August/September of each year and classes continue into May/June.

On-the-job training is performed throughout the year and is not limited to the school year.
