ALULA
Background Information
Where Did It All Begin?
The story of ALULA begins in 1967, in a small mountain town with a clear belief: that real, meaningful work has the power to transform lives. What started as a small support program for individuals with disabilities in Brevard, North Carolina became a foothold for those too often underestimated, a place to belong, contribute, and grow.
The scale was small. The purpose wasn’t. Momentum came not from expansion for its own sake, but from staying true, offering opportunity without condescension, and support without limits.
Why we want to hire veterans
People first: we attract, support, and grow talent in a culture of inclusion.
Together we achieve our mission by offering purpose-driven, living-wage careers right here in Transylvania County and surrounding areas.
As a Living Wage and Fair Chance Certified employer, we believe in second chances and the power of people to grow and belong.
We strive to lift people higher — just like the meaning behind our name. Here, you’ll find fair, living wage pay, a culture of inclusion and support, and plenty of room to learn, grow, and thrive, all driven by a mission that puts people first. Your story matters here. Come be part of something meaningful, together.
We believe work should work for you. That’s why we’ve built a benefits package that goes beyond the basics because you deserve more than “just a job.”
“Uplifting Work Starts Here — Production, Programs, and Purpose.”
ALULA is where meaningful careers meet inclusive impact.
