Dupage County Electrical Apprenticeship is accepting online applications
Choosing the Inside Wiremen program requires a 5 year commitment that includes 8,000 on-the-job work hours and 900 classroom hours to complete. The Inside Wireman installs and maintains all of the various types of electrical requirements found in commercial and industrial facilities. Equipment used may include lighting, power distribution, motors, HVAC equipment, and any electrical system that controls the operation of a facility's energy usage. While there are many tasks associated with the Inside Wireman classification, the apprenticeship training provides all of the required knowledge and skill.
APPLICATION INFORMATION 2027
DuPage County JATC will be accepting applications online starting on 10/1/25 through September 30, 2026 for the class that will start in 2027.
There are two training programs available: Commercial Electrician and Telecommunications Electrician.
APPLICATION FEE: $20 fee for each program. Paid online
An Aptitude Test will be given in November 2026 to those with completed applications. The Aptitude Test is two parts: Part I is Algebra. Part Il is Reading Comprehension. Test scores range from 1-9. Your score must be a 4 or higher to be interviewed in January or February 2027.
After the interview, your name will be placed on an eligibility list. Selection from that list will be determined by the number of job openings. Work will begin in spring 2027. Classes will start in fall 2027.

Requirements
Upload a copy of your valid Driver's License. If you are driving on a ticket, submit a copy of the ticket AND State I.D.
Upload a copy of your birth certificate (minimum of 17 years of age).
Upload transcripts) for high school AND post high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable.
If not already provided on transcripts submitted, provide evidence of successful completion of one full year of high school Algebra I or one post high school Algebra I equivalent. (Minimum "C" average required for Commercial (Inside) and Telecommunication programs.)
Letters of recommendation, personal merit citations, military training as listed on a DD-214,achievement awards, etc. may also be provided. These items must be received by October 31, 2026.
Photocopied transcripts, outdated transcripts, transcripts identified as unofficial, or transcripts in unsealed envelopes, WILL NOT be accepted.

All applicants who meet minimum requirements and have a completed application by the deadline will be scheduled for the aptitude test. You will receive an email with the date and time of your aptitude test. This information will also be available in your Trade School account.

In order to qualify for an oral interview, an applicant must obtain a minimum score of "4" or higher, using the electrical trade's aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institutes for Research. The number of qualified applicants interviewed may be determined by selecting the top aptitude scorers equaling 500% of the anticipated positions available. You are not guaranteed an interview.
