Heat and Frost Insulators Milwaukee Local 19 is accepting Apprentice applications
Union insulators have the experience, skills and resources to handle a wide-variety of insulation-related projects ranging from nuclear and electrical power plants, ethanol plants, automotive manufacturing facilities, and food-processing plants to hospitals, schools, semi-conductors and high-rise buildings. The expertise of our members runs the gamut to include the thermal control of multi-million-dollar projects, annual maintenance check-ups and even small repairs.
Submission:
• Apply for the apprentceship with Local 19.
Accuplacer Test/ACT:
• Upon applicaton, expect to take an Accuplacer test.
• Receive a test invitaton letter via email from Local 19.
• Use the provided le?er to take the test at a Wisconsin Technical College.
• ACT scores are also accepted.
Test Results and Introductory Meetng:
• AFer passing the Accuplacer test, receive a letter for an introductory meetng.
• RSVP for the introductory meetng.
Waitng List and Contractor Informa;on:
• Post the introductory meetng, get placed on the wai&ng list.
• Receive a letter of introducton and a list of contractors.
• Choose to self-solicit or wait for placement by the apprentceship program.
Contractor Placement and Drug Screening:
• Once a contractor is found (by you or the program), undergo a drug screening.
• Upon receiving a negatve drug screening result, proceed to the next steps.
Union Hall Registra;on:
• Visit the Union Hall to register.
• Pay a $250 initaton fee.
Readiness for Work:
• AFer comple&ng the above process, you are now ready to start your appren&ceship. Apprentceship Applicaton Process
