Maintenance Mechanic Leader
You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Leads a crew of maintenance employees by assigning daily work, demonstrating proper work methods, monitoring work progress, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, coordinating equipment, materials, and supplies, and reporting work status and operational issues to supervisors. Operates and performs operator-level maintenance on a variety of heavy engineering and construction equipment, including front-end loaders, backhoes, crawler dozers, motor graders, skid steers, tractors, dump trucks, equipment transport vehicles, and other specialized equipment used to construct, maintain, repair, and rehabilitate roads, trails, drainage systems, campgrounds, parking areas, and other developed facilities. Performs excavation, grading, earthmoving, hauling, snow removal, site preparation, drainage improvements, road maintenance, and infrastructure rehabilitation projects while interpreting work orders, plans, grades, and specifications to safely complete assignments with minimal supervision. Performs skilled masonry work involving the construction, repair, restoration, and preservation of stone, concrete, retaining walls, walkways, drainage structures, and other park facilities. Performs incidental carpentry, painting, and general maintenance work necessary to complete assigned projects and preserve park infrastructure. Operates commercial motor vehicles and equipment transport combinations to haul heavy equipment, materials, and supplies; performs required vehicle inspections and operator maintenance; maintains operational records; and obtains and maintains a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) as required for the position.
