Our signature program, the Parks Opportunity Program (POP), provides innovative career assistance to Parks' transitional employment trainees, who gain paid work experience cleaning and greening parks throughout New York City.Major Responsibilities- Under general direction, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, meet individually with POP trainees and other clients of the Agencys employment programs.- Create professional resumes for program trainees.- Coach trainees on professionalism and positive work habits at Parks worksites.- Coach trainees on articulating their work history and skills in a professional setting.- With trainees, identify and establish short-term job goals leading to long-term career pathways.- Refer trainees to available training and education support consistent with their career pathway or short-term goals.- Conduct intake workshop focused on job search, professionalism, and positive work habits.- Use database and other provided systems to document referrals, participation, attendance and related outreach.Work Location: Passerelle Building, QueensHow to Apply: Go to cityjobs.nyc.gov and search for Job ID# 787743.
