Registered Nurse RN - Outpatient Day Surgery

Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hour shifts

This high-efficiency role is intentionally structured to attract top-tier Ambulatory Surgery, Same-Day Surgery (SDS), Outpatient Perioperative, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), and Day Surgery RNs who thrive in fast-paced, high-turnover environments focused on seamless care transitions. Operating within our active outpatient surgery department, you will manage the comprehensive progression of adult and pediatric patients through pre-operative preparation, immediate post-operative recovery (PACU), and final discharge planning. Our day surgery team supports a broad spectrum of elective and specialized minimally invasive procedures—utilizing advanced laparoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic techniques—across diverse specialties such as bariatric, orthopedic, gynecological, general, and award-winning urological surgeries. Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care spanning pre-admission, surgical admission, and interdisciplinary same-day discharge planning.
• Safely administer medications, carry out physician treatment orders, and monitor patient clinical reactions through the established chain of command.
• Determine specific educational needs, promote active patient participation in care decisions, and deliver vital instructions for safe home recovery.
• Maintain rigorous documentation, protect patient privacy, and strictly follow all laws, regulations, and hospital policies regarding controlled substances.
• Participate actively in clinical performance improvement initiatives to directly elevate surgical safety, patient outcomes, and environmental functionality.
• Promote a collaborative team environment, share acquired surgical skills with colleagues, and proactively identify personal clinical learning needs with management.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• Current BLS, and ACLS issued from American Heart Association required.
• 1 year of clinical Day Surgery experience as a licensed RN required.
