Supply Technician (HAZMAT)
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Performs duties which are concerned with the receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, redistributing, identifying, and accounting/controlling of conventional hazardous materials.
- Maintain inventory control and records of hazardous material.
- Investigate and reconcile routine problems and discrepancies.
- Provide reports and documentation to appropriate individuals as required.
- Advise on deviations from the normal and recommend corrective action.
- Provide general customer support and assist customers with tracking hazardous material.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Interpret and apply supply regulations, policies, and procedures in the movement of hazardous materials; Use an automated supply system to execute the acquisition of hazardous products; Compile supply information and data to identify discrepancies; and maintain inventory control and records of hazardous materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next or second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05 or GS-06).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
