Telephone Service Technician

*ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT PARKS EMPLOYEES* The New York City Parks Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (ITT) provides an effective delivery of IT services, infrastructure, and telecommunications to enhance services for parks citywide employees and beyond. As a technology provider ITT is responsible for maintaining the core IT infrastructure and systems that affect all areas of parks operations from public safety to human services, and educational opportunities.Major Responsibilities- Under general supervision, maintain, install, inspect, test, move, alter, and repair telephone communications systems, low voltage electronic systems and related equipment including Citytime hand scanners and associated cable and wiring.- Serve as a technical resource person in the diagnosis and correction of computer, telephone and peripheral hardware problems, including scanners and printers.- Conduct periodic inspections to determine proper utilization of Agency Desktop communications equipment to ensure complete compliance with work orders and proper installation.- Respond in a timely manner to user concerns and problems.- Provide IT related support at various sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City.- Observe and control the operation of computer and peripheral equipment.
