Registered Nurse RN - Wound Care Hyperbaric - PRN


Work Schedule: PRN Status/As Needed Schedule; Two (2) Shifts Per Pay Period (.30) – 8 hour shifts

This dedicated position is intentionally crafted to attract top-tier Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC), Ostomy Care, Hyperbaric, and Skin Integrity RNs who are passionate about restoring patient health and limb preservation. Operating within our advanced, comprehensive outpatient Wound Care Clinic, you will perform high-impact, evidence-based interventions—including negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), selective conservative debridement, multi-layer compression therapy, bioengineered tissue/skin substitutes, and complex ostomy assessments. In addition, you will manage multi-place hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to treat complex non-healing ulcers, radiation tissue damage, and compromised skin grafts. Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate personalized treatment plans for assigned patients within the Wound Healing Center.
  • Assist physicians directly with the design and execution of specialized clinical wound treatment plans and advanced diagnostic testing.
  • Safe and accurately deliver hyperbaric oxygen therapy and modalities under the direct supervision of a hyperbaric physician.
  • Uphold all established AWCC Standards of Nursing Practice while working under the supervision of the Clinical Operations Manager.
  • Act strictly within the guidelines of federal and state laws, Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards, and ethical nursing practice.
  • Participate actively in department-specific performance improvement review activities to optimize patient safety and clinical healing rates.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required
  • 2 years of clinical Med-Surg experience as a licensed RN in a hospital required, Wound Care experience preferred.
