Job Summary and Qualifications
Are you an experienced Labor & Delivery RN seeking a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where your skills make a difference every day?
At HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, you'll join one of Miami's busiest maternity programs, caring for diverse patient populations and supporting families through some of life's most important moments. Our Labor & Delivery team works collaboratively with physicians, neonatal specialists, and experienced nursing leaders to provide exceptional care for routine and high-risk pregnancies. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your clinical expertise while caring for laboring patients, supporting C-sections, responding to obstetric emergencies, and collaborating with our Level II NICU team. What You'll Do
- Provide evidence-based nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum stabilization.
- Manage high-risk obstetric patients and rapidly changing clinical situations.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being utilizing advanced fetal monitoring techniques.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatology providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in emergency obstetrical interventions and surgical deliveries.
- Support breastfeeding, patient education, and family-centered care.
- Deliver compassionate care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.

What qualifications you will need:
- Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Current Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification or must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
We encourage applications from RNs with at least one year of recent Labor & Delivery experience. Nurses with experience managing high-volume and high-acuity obstetric patients are especially encouraged to apply.
HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. This program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. We are affiliated with HCA Florida Healthcare Division.
