Practicing within our dedicated neuro-orthopedic lines, you will deliver comprehensive post-operative care and multi-system nursing management—including advanced continuous neurovascular checks, complex pain modulation, early mobility mapping, and spinal precautions—for patients recovering from total joint replacements, advanced spinal fusions, and neuro-trauma injuries. Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care and discharge planning for assigned patients utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach.
- Safely administer medications, carry out physician treatment orders, and assist with clinical examinations, tests, and medical procedures.
- Observe patient clinical status, maintain accurate medical records, and immediately report condition changes through the established unit chain of command.
- Plan and coordinate individualized patient and family teaching while carefully verifying their understanding of ongoing care plans.
- Demonstrate proficiency in unit-based, age-appropriate clinical competencies and universal infection control precautions while contributing to hospital performance improvement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, safeguard strict patient medical confidentiality, and honor diverse cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual values.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License with 90 days of hire date).
- Current BLS certification are required.
- 1-year of Neuro-Ortho clinical experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required.
