Registered Nurse RN - Acute Hemodialysis - PRN
Work Schedule: PRN Status/As Needed Schedule; Start Time 6:30 a.m.
Elevate your inpatient nephrology practice with exceptional flexibility as a PRN Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN) at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast. This premium per-diem role is strategically structured to attract dedicated Dialysis, Nephrology, Acute Dialysis, Chronic Dialysis, and Renal RNs who thrive in highly autonomous, high-impact clinical environments. Operating within our 340+ bed acute care facility, you will deliver comprehensive renal replacement therapies—including acute and chronic hemodialysis (HD), peritoneal dialysis (PD) management, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) support, fluid volume balance monitoring, and advanced vascular access care across the intensive care units, stepdown units, and dedicated treatment suites. Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered renal care aligned with departmental requirements and specific state and specialty practice standards.
- Partner closely with nephrologists and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate clinical care.
- Utilize proven, established clinical nursing frameworks, specifically focusing on the "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" methodology.
- Serve as a dedicated advocate for chronic or acute kidney disease patients, families, and caregivers throughout the treatment process.
- Demonstrate a consistent commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and core values to support an unparalleled patient experience.
- Execute daily dialysis nursing duties to achieve excellent clinical outcomes that directly boost overall departmental performance.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current BLS and ACLS issued from American Heart Association required.
- 1 year of clinical Dialysis experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required.
