Registered Nurse RN Observation Clinical Decision
Work Schedule: 3 days per week, 7p-7a/Rotating Weekends

Operating within our dedicated observation and short-stay settings, you will manage comprehensive diagnostic care, rapid clinical assessments, continuous telemetry monitoring, and aggressive protocol-driven treatments for patients requiring focused 12-to-24-hour evaluations for conditions such as chest pain, syncope, dehydration, and post-procedural recovery. Job Summary and QualificationsAs an Observation Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Administer the nursing process to a designated group of patients, establishing accountability for direct care delivery and outcome evaluation.
- Assign and delegate patient care tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff based on patient acuity, clinical needs, and staff qualifications.
- Evaluate patient care outcomes, consult with interdisciplinary teams, and adjust treatment plans to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Participate actively in the case management process and cost containment efforts to optimize resource utilization.
- Maintain efficient, effective medical documentation while adhering to hospital policies, performance improvement activities, and professional conduct standards.
- Exhibit specialized, age-specific clinical competency when managing and treating geriatric patient populations.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required.
- 1 year of clinical Med-Surg experience as a licensed RN in a hospital setting required.
