Capital Budget Analyst

Join the NYC Department of Transportations Budget and Capital Program Management (BCPM) / Capital Budget Unit (CBU) team and contribute to the management, development, and execution of DOTs $34 billion, ten-year capital program. The position will support the Director and Assistant Director in a variety of capital budget functions, with opportunities to take on independent work and serve as a lead analyst for one or more capital program areas. Responsibilities will include analyzing new capital need proposals; supporting Capital Plan updates and Capital Commitment Plan submissions; facilitating Certificate-to-Proceed (CP) approvals by coordinating Q&A; tracking project delivery and performance; analyzing inactive encumbrances; supporting capital project mapping and Asset Information Management System (AIMS) reporting; tracking Mayoral initiatives; and preparing ad-hoc reports and analyses for management. The analyst should be comfortable working with large datasets, developing clear and effective spreadsheets and presentations, conducting research and forecasting for updates to the Citys Financial Management System (FMS), and coordinating with OMB, DOT divisions, and other City agencies. The position will also participate in meetings and workshops with senior management and other City partners on capital priorities, project delivery, and program development.*** To be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the civil service title of Economist, or be reachable on the most current Economist Exam list. ***
