Union apprenticeship program (Operating Engineer). On the job training in heavy civil construction for example; bridges, roads, tunnels and all heavy equipment required to construct including cranes. This position is just an entry doorway for a great career and life wage job.
Operating Engineers
Represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Locals 302.Operating engineers operate the bulldozers, motor graders, backhoes, paving machinery and cranes that help to form highways, site infrastructure and skylines.
They work survey sites, pave and hoist steel and slabs. They also do the final grading as well as maintain/repair machinery.
Operating engineers may travel up to 80 miles or more to job sites. This specific postion is for a crane oiler. An oiler supports the crane operator, with signals, rigging, and maintenance of the crane.
Requirements
You do not need construction skills to get started; the professionals will teach you what you need to know.

Drug-free: Construction sites are dangerous. Everyone must be alert and fit for duty.
Safety: Pay attention. Wear PPE at all times. Speak up if something looks unsafe or you are unsure.
