Residential Supervisor
Salary: $54,080.00 with eligible increase after training has been completed
Position Summary:
The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of a team of employees contributing to the day-to-day activities for the assigned location. They will provide direction, instruction and advice in order to achieve quality supports for the participants. Key attributes of a frontline leader are leadership, problem solving, emotional intelligence, empathy, active listening, communication skills, and teamwork.
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school, with preference for college education.
- Prefer at a minimum of two years direct experience with supporting people with IDD.
- Requires strong skills in the areas of verbal and written communication, team building, conflict resolution, problem solving, assessment, and use of technology.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to pass criminal background test.
- Proven capability to effectively manage a wide range of responsibilities.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight for residential homes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license with insurability and a clean driving record required.
- Candidates must have the ability to pass a qualifying criminal background check and drug test.
- Ability to work five 8-hour shifts involving standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending.
- Ability to drive bussettes/vans, support people with getting on and off, operating a wheelchair lift, securing wheelchairs as needed.
- Ability to push a person in a wheelchair as needed.
- Ability to support a person with bathing, hygiene, dressing, supporting them with transferring to a bed, wheelchair as needed
- Ability to carry in groceries, cleaning supplies after supporting people with shopping.
- Ability to assist with cleaning and cooking including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning toilets, showers, tubs, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
· Collaborate with HR to fill open positions completing second interview in a timely manner.
· Complete onboarding process for all new hires.
· Ensure all required documentation and training are completed and maintained for all direct reports.
Staff Supervision & Development
· Conduct regular performance evaluations along with coaching and mentoring.
· Implement performance improvement plans when needed.
· Deliver continuous training and constructive feedback to support staff development.
Scheduling & Time Management
· Coordinate with Workforce Managers to maintain accurate schedules.
· Review and approve timesheets weekly.
· Resolve scheduling conflicts promptly.
Medical Oversight & Health Compliance
· Ensure medication procedures are followed and documented.
· Collaborate with nurses to address medical needs.
· Train staff on incident reporting and abuse prevention.
Nutrition & Meal Planning
· Prepare or coordinate menus based on nutritional assessments.
· Ensure food purchasing aligns with menus and dietary needs.
· Monitor food safety and storage practices.
Environmental & Safety Management
· Conduct regular safety drills and document results.
· Complete preventative maintenance checklists monthly.
· Ensure all safety supplies are stocked and accessible.
Vehicle & Resource Management
· Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
· Maintain maintenance practices including accident reports, work orders and DJIs.
Direct Support & Individualized Services
· Provide direct support when needed.
· Train staff on Individual and Behavior Support Plans.
· Monitor assistive technology and remote supports.
Team Collaboration & Communication
· Attend and contribute to team meetings regularly.
· Maintain open communication with staff, participants, and community.
· Address concerns and unexpected priorities promptly.
