We are looking for a compassionate and reliable team member to support individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s and age-related dementia in a structured, home-like environment.

Position Summary
 The Adult Center Specialist works as part of a team to support participants and their families by providing direct care, engaging activities, and a safe, supportive environment. This role focuses on maintaining participant dignity, promoting independence, and ensuring services are aligned with individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to participants, including assistance with daily living needs and medications as appropriate 
• Plan and facilitate recreational, social, and daily living activities 
• Monitor participant well-being and communicate changes to appropriate staff 
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily notes and activity records 
• Support development and implementation of participant care plans 
• Assist with snack preparation, clean-up, and maintaining a clean, organized environment 
• Follow all safety procedures, including emergency response when needed 
• Ensure facility security through opening and closing procedures 
• Enter participant information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system 
• Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development 
• Maintain compliance with all agency, state, and federal requirements 
• Perform other duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent 
• Two years of related experience in human or social services preferred 
• Experience working with seniors with Alzheimer’s or dementia preferred 
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus 
• Must meet agency driving requirements (21+ and licensed for at least 3 years) 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong communication skills with participants, families, and team members 
• Ability to assess needs and support both individual and group activities 
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn EMR systems 
• Reliable transportation and good driving record

Required Certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire)

• Alaska Driver’s License 
• CPR and First Aid(Agency Provided)
• Safety-Care Certification (Agency Provided)

Additional Requirements

• Annual PPD test 
• Hepatitis B immunization or you may waive

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
 This position involves medium physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent standing, walking, bending, and assisting participants.
