Part-Time, As-Needed State Meetings Media Technician


Peak Performers is seeking a highly skilled State Meetings Media Technician to support the Texas Space Commission’s quarterly Open Board of Directors Meetings and closed Executive Sessions.

This is a part-time, as-needed opportunity supporting high-visibility executive meetings. The technician will provide white-glove audiovisual, video teleconferencing, and end-user technical support to help ensure meetings run smoothly from setup through post-meeting breakdown.

What you’ll do
  • Set up, connect, test, and troubleshoot audiovisual, video teleconferencing, and end-user technology before quarterly Open Board Meetings and Executive Sessions.
  • Create and manage meeting links, coordinate calendar invitations, and provide advance technical troubleshooting.
  • Serve as the Zoom host and on-site IT lead during meetings.
  • Support reliable operation of VTC, audiovisual equipment, and end-user technology throughout each meeting.
  • Ensure open meetings are properly recorded in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Seamlessly support transitions between open Board Meetings and closed Executive Sessions.
  • Break down, disconnect, disassemble, and return equipment to storage after meetings.
  • Restore meeting spaces to their pre-meeting condition.
  • Organize and provide meeting recordings and related technical materials to the appropriate team for posting and records retention.
  • Travel within Texas as needed to support meetings. The technician will generally receive at least one month’s notice of out-of-town meetings.
What you’ll bring
  • At least four years of white-glove, executive-level technical support experience.
  • At least five years of end-user technical support experience.
  • At least five years of experience supporting PC hardware and performing routine software installation and configuration.
  • At least five years of experience troubleshooting IT hardware, peripherals, and related technology in an enterprise environment.
  • At least five years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
  • At least four years of experience supporting video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in a public-facing, high-visibility environment.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds and set up conference-room technology and equipment.
  • Ability to travel and work as needed, including during legislative-session periods.
Assignment details
  • Schedule: Part-time, as needed; approximately every 3 months 
  • Meeting duration: Typically 2-4 hours per day, depending on the agenda
  • Hourly Rate: $31 
  • Location: Austin, Texas, with occasional travel to meeting locations throughout Texas
  • Travel: Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Office of the Governor policy; should be informed at least a month in advance before travel is needed.
  • Start date: Next available Texas Space Commission meeting
