Claims Specialist
Peak Performers is seeking a Claims Specialist for a public health program that helps people access care. In this role, you’ll help ensure claims are entered accurately, reviewed, and processed for payment. You’ll also assist with questions from healthcare providers and program participants.
This is a detail-focused role with a steady volume of work. Training will be provided.
Who You Will Be Working With
You will be working alongside a dedicated state health program team that manages critical financial and healthcare assistance for individuals in need. Operating within a high-volume public health environment, this division works tirelessly to ensure claims are processed quickly, accurately, and securely.

Major Duties
- Perform high-volume data entry and conduct quality assurance and quality control checks on claim data.
- Adjudicate healthcare claims and generate and distribute payment remittances.
- Assist with Coordination of Benefits (COB) activities and day-to-day claims operations.
- Respond to inquiries from healthcare providers and program participants via phone and email.
- Operate standard office equipment, including multi-line phones, copiers, faxes, and scanners.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in data entry, general office, or administrative support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with strong skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information (PHI/HIPAA).
- Excellent written, oral, and customer service skills with the ability to correspond professionally with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to manage priorities, work independently or collaboratively, and meet tight deadlines.
Exciting Opportunity Details
- Pay Rate: $21.00 / hour
- Job Duration: 7-month assignment with potential for extension
- Location: Menands, NY 12204 (100% On-Site at Riverview Center)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)
- Interview Process: Phone Screens will be conducted by Peak Performers. Following, client interviews will be conducted virtually via WebEx.
